Update

私のガンプラ

Dear All, for some reason I have changed my blog title from “Gundam ~Past Present Future~” to “私のガンプラ“…

My username is now changed from “gppf” to “the.mono.eye“…

And a new Gravatar too…

I will continue to post as long as I get my hand on a Gunpla… and I will continue to live on with this hobby…

Thanks for the support given all this while.

Cheers.

Still Alive

Yes, I’m still alive. Currently working in Dubai, that’s why there isn’t any Gunpla update from me. Anyway, there isn’t much “big news” to talk about regarding Gunpla recently, other than the rather disappointing anime release of Gundam Age… Well, it is not my kind of Gunpla anime, but the Gundam Age Normal is quite a nice looking kit to be honest. Other than that, expect a series of SEED wave back into action in near future… as the HG remake has already been released… I believe some MG are on their way as well… BANDAI will not waste the Strike Gundam Frame from being utilized for other kit… well, Duel Gundam is on it’s way already… The only “wow” would be the “official” debut of Unicorn Gundam Bansee…yup, looking forward for it, and the Full Armor Unicorn Gundam release as well.

Update: Hiatus and some coming soon Gunpla…

Been MIA for pass 2 weeks due to business trip… I hope that everything will resume back to normal soon… and I’m still yet to post my review for GN-X MG… >.< anyway, here are some late update on the Gunpla news…

May Release:

June Release: GM Cannon II HGUC

July Release: RG Zaku II Mass Production Type

GM III HGUC

Update: April Fool

It’s April, and I’m still busy with a lot of business trip… argh… anyway, I just realized that I had forgotten to post up a review on my GN-X MG… @.@ Hope I will still remember about this and get it done before I totally forget about it. NExt week onwards, I will MIA again for 2 weeks time… Sinanju MG is still sitting in the box waiting for me to get it done… and my wish list has grow slightly longer, but none of them are in my loots yet as I don’t have the time to go for Gunpla shopping… T.T Just hope that my Gupla life will be slightly more organized by the end of April…

Update: C3 Expo

RG Aile Strike Gundam

HGUC Dreissen

MG 00 Raiser

Looks like there’s a weird part on the GN Drive for locking purpose while attaching with O Raiser…

Update: A Week of Hiatus…

I’m not making any progress in my custom made GN-X this week… too busy with my work as I need to submit a project next week. Hopefully I can get the remaining bits done by next week…

Anyway, after a few pictures here and there, I think the MG 00 Raiser is most probably having the issue same with usual 1/100 NG kit… which is the 0 Raiser is too heavy to be fitted to the GN Drive… but it makes me wonder, this is a known issue and BANDAI didn’t fix it for the MG kit? Sound impossible, but we will see if there’s any gimmick (like PG has) which can hold the 0 Raiser in a nice looking position… as currently it is not appealing at all.

Well, Whatever it is, I’m not going to get myself one as I’m satisfied with my PG 00 Raiser… and everyone is very much comparing this kit with the Metal Build 00 Gundam 7 Swords… which is built base on PG style… hmm… we’ll see how things unfold eventually…

Gundam ~Past Present Future~ ReVamped!

Lazying in my custom made GN-X today while spending my time on revamping my site this evening… finally it’s all done! Well, take it as a new outlook for the year 2011… hope you guys like the way it looks… tired… is time to sleep and start packing for my business trip… Take care everyone!

Update: No Loots… T.T

Wonder why… maybe I’m too poor to buy any new kit out there… XD or maybe there’s nothing interesting out there? Hmm… I think I’d changed in the way I increase my collection… recently will think twice before getting a Gunpla… part of it is because recently the Gunpla price had increase a little bit (mainly for the MGs in my opinion), but that will not be the major issue, rather it is about the time I have for me to put all my heart into building the kit. When time is not that sufficient, people will easily slack off and don’t have the motivation and momentum to carry on the work…

Anyway, I will get a 00 QanT into my collection, still wondering to get the MG or the HG (most probably will be the HG), and looking forward to welcome GN-X MG into my collection as well (Ok, I fed up waiting for the A-Laws version). These are the two kits that I will get in near future. While I will get my hands on the Strike Freedom MG as well for custom made project (shall I leave it as a debut kit for local competition? Hmm…)

Well, the next project that most likely for me to kick start will be Custom Made GN-X HG… got some rough idea on what I want to do, but still need to work things out slowly. Hope that I can improve my skills better this time in order to have more confidence in custom build my Strike Freedom MG.

Till then, good luck everyone in Gunpla-ing… and hope I can squeeze just a little more time for this hobby ^^

Update: The year of 2011

Well, I can’t foresee what model is going to be release this year, and I’m not planning to guess as well. So I shall just roughly plan up for the existing kit and see what I got in my sleeve…

First, planning to get GN-X MG, 00 Qan[T] MG and Sinanju MG into my collection… Delta Plus HGUC is also in my wish list. Maybe will get a few HG kit for the Gundam 00 Movie if there’s no news for the 1/100 scale model. Some other Gundam that may eventually get into my collection will be ReZEL MG, Kshatriya HGUC, Force Impulse MG, Astray Blue Frame MG and etc…

For custom made project… planning to have a Custom made GN-X HG and Custom made Strike Freedom MG (yup, I will say goodbye to the PG strike Freedom for now…) Just hope that I will have the time to do so.

Anyway, for now, Zaku RG is in my hand awaits for me… Gouf Custom HGUC is done, but still thinking to weather it or not, follow by some photo shooting. I can foresee myself to be very busy this year in work, just hope that I still manage to squeeze some time out for my Gunpla works!

Till then, wishing everyone a happy new year!

Update: End of 2010

Finally, 2010 comes to an end. I’d bought myself a new camera, Canon Power Shot G12 as Christmas present… rather than the Strike Freedom Gundam PG. Well, mainly I dislike the wing spread of this PG… I’m not mentioning the gold plated extending parts on the wing, but the overall wing balance when it open/spread out. Take a look at the picture below:

This is how the wing spread of Strike Freedom should be, evenly spread out from top to bottom… while for the PG…

You can see that one wing is spread towards the top and the other wing literally remains in the original position without any movement, which is pointing downwards… it is really weird and not balance at all…

Well, other than this will be mainly the issue with the structure and strength of the wing. Simply search through the web and you will see tons of complain on the strength of the wing… honestly I would aspect that at the very beginning. As MG Strike Freedom which is small and light already have similar issue, the gigantic PG Strike freedom sure will be even worse… So I’m still not planning to get this kit unless I found a solution towards solving the issues above.

By the way, my Gouf Custom HGUC is completed… will post some pictures when I’m free to do so. Looking forward for the year 2011, wonder what great master piece will be released by BANDAI… and hope that all Gunpla fans can get better modelling skills and advance together to a whole new level ^^

P/S: Of course we will pray for lower Gunpla price… all the time 🙂

Update: In stock now…

Yup… just stock up with Char’s Zaku RG and Gouf Custom HGUC… I will build the Gouf first… I think I will just do a straight build… and maybe some weathering? Still thinking… not much time to spend in modelling them as daily work is already killing me. Anyway, hope that I can get it done end of this month ^^

Update: WIP Finally done…

Before I get stuck with my work loads starting next week… I’m glad that I manage to get this boy done… finally… after dragging for such a long time. Anyway, as usual there are some seam lines that I failed to cover them totally… sigh… and many flaws here and there… anyway, like the color scheme pretty much. Honestly, had been a little lazy because as getting closer to the end, less modification was made… haha… still thinking of a name for it, this is not the review yet, just a sneak preview of it… full gallery will be posted as soon as possible.

Decided to go for unsymmetrical design half way… because worry that the extra part on the left shoulder will block the movement of the shield.

Remains clean with little extra panel line as this is what I would imagine for Infinite Justice…

The suppose-to-be-on-top-of-chest beam cannon was attached on the shield because I decided to throw the rifle away… this is the only long range weapon.

Looks familiar with this thruster? The whole back pack was rebuild… added thruster for shoulder armor as well

The rear view… holes are on the arms to create “expose inner frame” feeling…

The head modification…

Added a blade here… opened a hole above the leg thruster to expose inner detail

Saw this dagger before somewhere?

Update: ReZEL 1/100 MG Preview

Already released. Here’s a preview done by someone else.

Should I get this one? Hmm…

Update: What’s on my mind

Yes, our fellow Blogger Ngee Khiong decided to end his blog. Well, it doesn’t really seems like a big news, just another blogger is stopping in posting… but there are many people out there that rely on his information in order to get themselves updated with the latest release. Well, I do admit that I visit his site for… maybe once a few days. I do get some information from other places, but at the same time I will update myself through his site as well.

He had pointed out a few points for why he wanted to end the blog. Well, I do agree with the reasons he stated… those frustration that he feel… I feel it too, long ago… but there’s nothing much to do… and I had chosen to carry on. Yes, Gunpla builders are not unite at all. Often there will be cases like Pro modeler is discriminating those not-so-skillful one… and they tend to differentiate between Modeler and Collector. What I mean here is what is the big deal in differentiating this? In the end, the love and fever to Gundam is the same for all of us. We should share our interest together instead of making fun on others.

For the issue regarding pirated Gundam… I got no comment on it. I know the price for BANDAI product is not cheap, but for me, I will go for the original. If I don’t have the money, I’ll slowly earn and collect it until I get the Gunpla I want. But for those who can’t do so, they chosen to buy cheaper pirated Gundam instead. there’s nothing I can do with it, I don’t have a strong point to fight on this.

Most of the website which depends on Gundam is in “dying” stage. It looks a bit ridiculous as everyone know the sales for Gunpla is keep on increasing. Why website like this will still shut down? there are many other issue surrounding, which I plan to wait Ngee Khiong to post his final post first before I go deeper into them.

For the time being, when I’m still able to do so, I will try to post some latest Gundam news in my blog here. I’m not planning to replace Ngee Khiong in his place, as me myself have no idea how long I can continue to blog about Gundam. But for the time being, since I know Chinese and a little Japanese, I’m able to translate most of the information from other website. I’m willing to give it a try to post something similar to what Ngee Khiong has done. However I will only focus on Gunpla kits. Other stuff like Robot Damashi, Kamen Raider and etc will not be in my scope. Do not expect to see intense update like what Ngee Khiong is displaying. For those who has lost their direction in getting information, please feel free to drop by my blog for the mean time.

Till then, take care.

Update: I will try my very best…

Yes, since I have no other Gunpla awaiting for assembly in my hand… I guess it’s time to go for another Custom Made project to rework some of my old kit… often, I’d been wanted to do a lot of things… wild imagination running through my mind… but in the end, due to a lot of limitation such as time, skills, my LAZY-NESS, and etc… my modification will eventually ended short and things are just… seems like half done. Sigh…

Anyway, this time I will try my very best to modify whatever I can on my coming Custom… I don’t think any new kit will get into my collection for the time being as nothing much interest me for now. So this is the time where I can really focus myself… and bring my imagination, skills and idea to a whole new level… hope my lazy-ness will down grade a little this time ^^

Still in brainstorming stage… it will be a 1/100 NG kit… I’m looking for good candidate for the mean time 🙂 Hopefully can kick start by today or tomorrow.

Update: slow moving…

Yup, recently my collection starts to grow slower and slower… it’s a good sign to my wallet anyway ^^ Haha… Astray Red Frame MG already done… waiting to topcoat and take some pictures of it. After this will pause for awhile as no other new kit awaiting me to get them done. So, maybe it’s time to plan for another custom made… Haha… this time will really slowly take my time to ensure it is as good as possible within my skills limitation. Anyway, don’t think I will be that free as starting from mid of September until End of October I will be kinda busy with my work. But still, hopefully I can get it started and get things done.

So, other stuff that might interest me… hmm… PG Strike Freedom seems to be a BIG HIT, but MG already a GREAT kit, I wonder what else can the PG pull out this time. Next will the the 00 Qan[T] Full Saber add-on… kinda like the style… pictures… well, I think you can get it vastly through the net, so I’ll just be lazy and go on without them ^^ Of course Delta Plus is a “must get” kit… other than that, I believe I’ll just sit and wait to see what’s gonna happen next before deciding what to include in my collection next. Have to consider the space I have to pose them all as well… sigh… guess have to add another glass cabinet in soon >.<

Update: I’m still alive

Yes, just to let everyone know that I am still alive here… today I went to town to sort out some business… and I manage to grab these two boys along the way… nothing new and special though -.-”

Anyway, won’t be doing these kits yet as I had said in my previous post that I plan to do a custom made of 1/100 NG scale model… yes, and I had decided to rev up my existing Blue Frame Second L… it’s not a MG so don’t expect too much out of it. But I will try to do more modification this time compared to my previous Exia R2 Custom… color scheme was decided, but what to modify… I still don’t have a clue yet. Anyway, definitely will start sanding and etc by tomorrow and see what comes into my mind by that time. Till then, enjoy your day fellow GUNPLA fans!

Update: New project coming soon

Well, actually been quite busy with my job… anyway, recently I got no time to go shop for new models… but will definitely go and buy some new kits… hopefully next week or the following week. Meanwhile, I’m planning to start a new custom made project… currently still in a planning stage, don’t really have any good idea yet. Most probably I’ll use my 1/100 Astray Blue Frame Second L as base model and start to modify it. But still don’t have any great idea that makes me go for it… still waiting the moment to come… anyway, will surely inform you all if I am going to really start the new project. So, stay tune for the time being and good luck in your Gundam project ^^

Update: MIA again

Sorry for missing in action again… started my working life and been busy all the time. Anyway, just bought the 1.5 Gundam HG model… will try to get it done when I got time to spare… just scratch build will do. When my life started to settle down, maybe I will try a custom made 1/100 model… depends.

Anyway, some Gundam had been released these few days… Avalanche Exia Dash seems promising… might get my hahds on it soon. Besides that, Gundam RX78-2 RG is coming soon… also looking forward for it’s release.

Update: Gallery completed

I think I had completed the gallery for all my Gunpla collection… hope I didn’t left out any of them ^^ Anyway, have to make a few statement here regarding my gallery work these few days:

First, I must say sorry for taking so long time to complete my gallery here.

Second, I must say sorry for some blur pictures.

Third, I must say sorry as the pictures are getting less and less in the gallery.

Lastly, I must say thank you for viewing and feel free to give any comment.

As stated in my third statement, some of the Gundam I just shoot a few pics from a single pose rather than multiple pose. There is a reason behind this. This is because when I take back the kits and try to play with them… as you might guess it, some of them actually break up. This is especially serious on kits with lots of gimmick which is hold by tiny pieces of plastic.

I do know that plastic will degrade as time goes by. They will become brittle and fragile. But if that’s really the case, then those gimmick were end up made for nothing as you can only play it when it is still new. Or do I really need to give all my Gunpla “warm up exercise” on their joints and gimmick everyday to keep them workable? Is really sad… and painful to my heart T.T some of the victims are Hi-v Gundam MG, Astray Blue Frame 1/100, Arios Gundam and a few more. Therefore I choose not to pose the rest of my Gunpla fancily as I afraid that same things might happen again.

I do check each and every of them… besides gimmick get stuck, some kits also end up their joints become much tighter and harder to pose. And not to mention those tiny parts that holds all the gimmick together are so vulnerable to stress and strain and can easily break, furthermore they are fragile due to “aging”. Start to wonder do I have to pose my Gundam at only one pose and keep it as it is forever to avoid any damage on it… I paid so much for the MG kits and still they are giving such problems… sigh…

All kits were fixed with cement, but gimmick no longer functional. Highly playable kit… this is what we always desired… and now had become a nightmare to me… maybe I should think all over again on my Gunpla hobby? Haha… it seems like I’, feeling a bit moody now. Anyway, enjoy the gallery and sorry for this looong post!

Update: Reviews and Gallery!

Yup… FINALLY… Reviews for ReZEL and 00 Gundam Seven Sword is up… and follow by the update of the Gallery page. This is the best I can do currently for the Gallery section… hope you guys will like it. Will continue to update the gallery when I got free time to spare ^.^ Till then, enjoy browsing…

Update: Busy… Busy…

Back from my vacation on Monday, but had been busy with interview for my job… anyway, my 00 Gundam Seven Sword is already completed. Now moving on to ReZel… The review will be post up after I snap some picture of it. Besides that, one more week of freedom and I will start my working life as had been confirmed a place in a company… T.T will have less time for Custom Work I guess… so stick with my scratch build first… and I’m running out of space in my room as well to pose all of them. Haha… the review should up by tonight or tomorrow for both of the kits I guess. So, till then, take care and enjoy your Gunpla!
